Day One

On Saturday 12th November, 12 noon, we gathered outside HSBC for a rally with several speakers, which was well received by the general public. We had a peaceful march along the high street with plenty of chanting, [many thanks to Ian the 'interdimensional wizard' for his input] and a high level of police presence. We came onto the Cathedral Green and were met by the acting Dean, who agreed with the need for a fairer society. The occupation struck camp beside the Cathedral then we began our first General Assembly. From this we established media, food and tranquility working groups. After setting up housekeeping procedures we ate dinner.
The camp currently stands at 13 tents, plus a kitchen tent and media/info tent [kindly donated]. This evening, two more gazebos were provided, to form the basis of  our Free University.

  1. I think it has been really successful so far! It was great to chat to passers by who support the movement, and those who at first didnt understand. Well done to those of you who have taken time off work etc to stay and show solidarity, and share info and help people understand that enough is enough. I have some photo's from day 1 you are welcome to put up here if you let me know you want them. peace
